A computer that will not start does not mean your files are gone. Very often the drive is fine and something else has failed. We assess the drive, tell you what is realistically recoverable, and quote before doing anything — because data recovery is one area where nobody can honestly promise a result in advance.

Clicking, grinding, or a machine that hangs on the startup logo. If a drive is physically failing, every extra hour it spends powered on can make recovery harder — so the single most useful thing you can do is stop using it and give us a call.
Computers That Will Not Start
A failed power supply, motherboard or screen has nothing to do with your files. In many of these cases we can pull the drive, recover everything, and put it on a new machine or an external disk for you.
Deleted and Overwritten Files
Files deleted by accident are often still on the disk until something writes over them. The sooner the machine stops being used, the better the odds. This applies to emptied recycle bins and to files lost during a failed update.
USB Sticks, SD Cards and Phones
Corrupted memory cards full of photos, USB sticks that ask to be formatted, and external drives that no longer mount. Bring the device itself rather than trying recovery software on it first — that often makes things worse.

No, and be wary of anyone who does. It depends on how the drive failed. What we can promise is an honest assessment before you commit to anything.
What should I do right now?
Turn the machine off and leave it off. Do not run recovery tools on a failing drive and do not keep restarting it — both reduce your chances. Then give us a call.
My drive is making a clicking noise. Is that bad?
It usually means a mechanical fault, which is the harder category. Stop using it immediately — continuing to power a clicking drive can turn a recoverable situation into an unrecoverable one.
Will you see my personal files?
Recovery necessarily involves handling your data. We treat it as confidential, we do not browse beyond what the job requires, and we securely remove our working copies once you have your files back.
Can you recover data from a water-damaged laptop?
Often yes, because the drive is frequently the part that survives. Do not try to dry it out and power it on — that is what usually causes the permanent damage. Get in touch and we will arrange to collect it or visit — leave it exactly as it is.
