We repair MacBooks, iMacs and Mac minis from our Clarkson workshop — screens, batteries, storage, and the software problems that make a perfectly good Mac feel past it. As an independent repairer we can often look at machines that are out of warranty or considered too old to be worth servicing elsewhere.
What We Fix
MacBook Screens and Batteries
Cracked displays, flickering panels and batteries that have swollen or stopped holding charge. A swollen battery is worth acting on promptly — it can press against the trackpad and the case, and the damage spreads.
Slow Macs and macOS Problems
A Mac that beachballs constantly, will not finish booting, or has become unusable after an update. Often this is storage pressure, a failing drive or a botched update rather than the machine being worn out.
Storage and Memory Upgrades
Where the model allows it, more memory or a larger, faster drive makes a real difference. Apple soldered these down on many recent machines, so we will tell you honestly whether yours can be upgraded before you get your hopes up.
Migrating to a New Mac
Moving everything across — files, mail, photos and settings — without losing things in the process. Useful if your old Mac is failing, since the migration is best done before it stops working entirely.
Independent Mac Repair, With Honest Limits
We are an independent repairer, not an Apple service provider, and there are some jobs we will refer on rather than attempt — certain board-level faults, and machines still covered by Apple warranty or AppleCare, where using us could cost you that cover. We will always tell you when that is the case. For everything else, you get a 90-day warranty on our work and a local person to talk to.
What Our Customers Say
Where We Work
We cover Clarkson, Butler and Merriwa, Joondalup and Edgewater, Wanneroo and Banksia Grove and Mindarie and Quinns Rocks, plus the surrounding northern suburbs. We come to you at home or on site, with a $150 call-out that includes the first hour. You can also arrange to drop a device off with us — by appointment only, so please call first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are you an Apple Authorised Service Provider?
No — we are an independent repairer. That means we can often help with older or out-of-warranty machines, but if your Mac is still under Apple warranty or AppleCare, take it to Apple first. Using an independent repairer can affect that cover, and we would rather you kept it.
Can you upgrade the memory or storage in my MacBook?
It depends on the model. Apple soldered memory and storage to the board on many machines from roughly 2016 onwards, which makes upgrades impossible. Tell us the model and we will tell you straight away.
My MacBook battery has swollen. Is it dangerous?
Treat it seriously. Stop charging it, avoid pressing on the case, and call us promptly. Swollen batteries can damage the trackpad and casing, and are a fire risk if punctured.
Can you recover data from a Mac that will not start?
Often, yes — see our data recovery page. Macs with the T2 chip or Apple Silicon encrypt storage by default, which makes recovery harder and sometimes impossible without the password, so bring that with you.
Do you work on iPhones and iPads?
Our focus is computers — Macs, PCs and laptops. Contact us about a specific device and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
